they only do it for the money and health tests cost money so it defeats the object.

raw lobsters are impossible to shuck. the meat would be healthy, but its impossible to get it out. also most raw lobsters are alive. people kill them by cooking them. you can buy frozen raw lobster but freezing meat depletes the nutrients too so many raw feeders only feed fresh.
crabs do carry a lung fluke which can cause very serious lung infection.

I've never bred and the only time we ever had a litter was when we adopted a dog who turned out to be pregnant- the shelter suspected and told us before hand. We got spay/neuter vouches for the number of puppies she would have-ended up being 4 pups.

My mother's best friend has a chihuahua. She's has had that dog close to 8 years now. Ever since she got the pup she wanted to get a male to breed. *rolls eye*. She's never had a litter of puppies, lord knows she hasn't given up though. Her little Precious is still not spayed and never had a litter-yet. She genuinely loves the breed- although I've told her to look up the the chihuahua breed and she'll see that her Precious isn't breed quality. First the dog has no papers- she bought from an AKC breeder that didn't give her the papers or she would have had to pay extra. I told her she should have turn the breeder in, AKC deals with that sort of thing, if I'm not mistaken.

She hasn't researched anything. She would be completely willing to let any male chihuahua stud her female- her females is a big aggressive to other dogs so that's probably why that didn't work out.

She hasn't gotten her OFA/CERF or any genetic testing done. She has money-she can perfectly afford that. She says its not money she's after when she tries to breed her dog. She has no need for money- she just wants to be a "grandma" and her Precious needs at least one litter or so she says. No matter what I tell her, she don't listen.

But some people who breed their dogs don't know anything about breeding. They think getting their pups shots and worming is enough. They, some of them anyway, don't know about OFA/CERF or anything. Some don't know that dogs can get doggy diseases from breeding.
They don't look at the future 6 months from having the puppies new home. They think present and that's it.
Some are irresponsible and don't get their pets spayed/neutered. That's happened to a few people that didn't have no plans breeding. This is how I got two of my mutts.Back then they were "free to good home". Nowadays the same mix would cost $100+.

You'd think someone would answer since it's an open platform for them to speak out...

I'd like to hear about hybrid vigor, and how Mutts don't need to be tested. I'd love to understand it.

Really, these people neither understand nor care about the potential health problems they could create for these puppies. They only know that they want to MAKE money, not spend it!

Because the people that don't research before breeding think that 'health testing' means one trip to the vet where the vet looks at the dog and deems it to be 'healthy.' They have no clue that there are breed specific ailments that need to be tested for. That, or they just don't care they are selling people garbage.

What...? But *everyone* wants one of my precious little teacup mini toy micro pocket york-chi-pom-malti-poo-cock-a-doodle-dos! Besides, if I health-tested that would take time away from my usual hobby of lighting my cigars with $100 dollar bills. Sheesh. What a dumb question.

You're not going to get any real answers to this question. Then, these people would have to ADMIT that they don't want to spend any money. They only want to make money and don't care about the health of their own dog, let alone future generations.

Add: #3, #3, come out, come out, wherever you are!
